KONI DKI Diminta Bentuk Tim Khusus

Jakarta KONI Asked to Form Inquiry Committee.

Following the arrest of Chairwoman of Jakarta National Sports Council (KONI), Winny Erwindia by the Attorney General's Office, the Jakarta KONI was asked to form KONI's inquiry team.

The team must be formed in order to save KONI during Erwindia undergoes legal proceedings

Winny Erwindia was arrested over corruption practice when she served as Managing Director of DKI Bank in 2006. "The team must be formed in order to save KONI during Erwindia undergoes legal proceedings," said Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Perpanahan (Perpani), Didi O Affandi, Friday (9/5).

Affandi stated a figure acceptable to all parties to sit as team chairman to save KONI is IGK Suena. "I think Mr. IGK Suena is very much deserved as team chairman. Moreover, at this time, he also became a member of the Advisory Council for Jakarta KONI," he revealed.

He added that IGK Suena will temporarily work until Winny Erwindia got a binding legal force over the alleged corruption case when becoming Managing Director of DKI Bank. "After Erwinda has binding legal force, the KONI caretakers are allowed to look for new chairman," he stated.

He admitted he received news on the arrest of Winny by the Attorney General's Office through the mass media. However, the case has nothing to do with KONI. "I hope the case does have an impact on the process of sports coaching in Jakarta," he expressed.

Affandi added that such case is influencing on the KONI sustainability. Therefore, the KONI's inquiry team is needed in a bid to ensure its sustainability.

"I hope the next KONI chairman could save world of sports. And I think the special team must be formed to smoothen the sustainability of the KONI well," he uttered.
