It certainly needs the attention of all parties
The PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, along with Jakarta CSR Forum spread three tons of green shells around Ancol waters, Sunday (10/6) yesterday. It was carried out in an effort to clear up the Jakarta Bay waters.
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Corporate Communication Manager Rika Lestari disclosed her party has conducted the restoration of these green shells since 2018 to restore the biodiversity of Jakarta Bay waters.
"It certainly needs the attention of all parties, including the public, the government and the private sector, one of them is Jakarta CSR Forum," she expressed, Monday (10/7).
Based on the results of research and experiments by the Ancol conservation team in the middle of last year, one kilogram of green shells can filter 10 liters of seawater per hour. While the 96 kilograms of green shells from the restoration carried out last year were able to filter 960 liters of seawater naturally and reduced nitrogen by 21 milligrams per hour.
"This year we're targeting to grow 1,000 kilograms of green shell to filter 10 liters of seawater per hour," she stressed.
Jakarta CSR Forum Chairman Mahir Bayasut added, maintaining the cleanliness of the Jakarta Bay environment is a shared responsibility.
"We really appreciate this action. Hopefully it can inspire other companies to be more concerned about environmental issues in Jakarta," he hoped.
