Tow Sanction Officially Applied for Four-Wheeled Vehicles

We hope motorcyclist can be more orderly by parking vehicle in the parking lot that has been provided

The city administration has officially applied a tow sanction with a fine of Rp 500,000 for four-wheeled vehicles park haphazardly. However, the rule is not applicable for two-wheeled vehicles, but still use the old method, that is removing tire valve. 

"For this time, we just apply levy fines for car," said Deputy Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Benjamin Bukit, Monday (9/8).

Double Sanction to Be Applied for Illegal Parking

Bukit disclosed, the motorcyclist does not park on the roadside if they want to be free from illegal parking raid. "We hope motorcyclist can be more orderly by parking vehicle in the parking lot that has been provided," he expressed.

According to the rule, the application of a levy fines could be prepared for two-wheeled vehicles. But it is still constrained by lack of personnel in the field. "The rule cannot be applied for two-wheeled vehicles due to lack of personnel in the field," he expressed.

He uttered for four-wheeled vehicles, his department can only apply the rule gradually. Where from 30 illegal parking- prone areas, the rule is only applied in five areas.

"This year, we can only have and operate 14 tow trucks. That's why the rule will be applied gradually," he stressed.

Similar with , valve tire removing at an early stage will also be done in five locations, such as Pasar Tanah Abang (Central Jakarta), Kalibata City Apartment (South Jakarta), Jatinegara Market (East Jakarta), Jakarta Kota (West Jakarta), and Jalan Marunda (North Jakarta).
