Parking Haphazardly, 17 Trucks on Jalan Arteri Marunda Controlled

Raid against vehicles parked haphazardly is held along Jalan Arteri Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Monday (9/8). As a result, dozens of trucks parked on roadsides are ticketed by local Transportation Sub-Department. In addition, two trailer trucks with license plates number B 9491 UEJ and B 9246 XA are towed by the officers.

As many as 30 joint personnel from North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department and TNI/police are deployed in this raid. From 10 AM until 1 PM, they took action against 17 trucks. In details, eight trucks had their tires flattened, seven trucks ticketed, and two trucks towed to North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department in Tanah Merdeka.
According to Bylaw No. 3/2012 on Regional Retributions, the towed trucks are proven guilty violating the bylaw, thus obligated to pay fine for as much as Rp 500 thousand each. As for the remaining trucks, their license plates are secured by the officers.

Meanwhile, Wandi Supriyadi (51), driver of truck B 9164 EK, admitted did not know about the bylaw. He reasoned that he parked his truck on roadside because the truck’s pool is already full.
“I didn’t know about the Rp 500 thousand fine. I parked here because I was about to take order in Marunda. Besides, the truck’s pool is full. Its capacity is only 200 trucks, but now there are 360 trucks. How could I get in?” he uttered.
