Illegal Parking, Cars and Motorcycles in Central Jakarta Ticketed

We do persuasive method by ticketing 8 cars by Transportation Department and the remaining 12 cars by police

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department assisted by local police have ticketed and towed 53 cars and 13 motorcycles due to illegal parking around Tanah Abang and Thamrin City areas, Central Jakarta, Monday (9/8). 

Head of Supervision and Control Section for Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Harlem Simajuntak disclosed for security in Tanah Abang, his side managed to ticket 20 vehicles.

"We do persuasive method by ticketing 8 cars by Transportation Department and the remaining 12 cars by police," he expressed, Monday (9/8).

Then in around Thamrin City shopping center, as many as 33 cars and 14 motorcycles' tire valves were removed by officers.

"Due to lack of tow truck, we had to remove the vehicles' tire valves, and only tow four cars to be brought to Rawa Buaya, West Jakarta," he told.

Minardi, (72), one of vehicle owners admitted he did not know parking ban because of he was directed by parking valet officers to pay Rp 25,000 and would get VIP parking ticket. 

"I don't know parking ban here, because previously valet parking officers were directing me to park by paying Rp 25,000 and get VIP ticket," told Minardi while showing up his parking ticket.
