Seribu Utara Festival Expected to Promote Tourism in North Thousand Island

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad expected Seribu Utara Festival that is held on Saturday (10/12) can promote tourism in Thousand Islands, especially North Thousand Islands area.

Hopefully, it could be our annual event

"We hope this festival that shows cultures, culinary bazaar, and music performance to be a good promotion event for tourism in North Thousand Islands," he mentioned, Friday (10/11).

He informed, most tourists visited South Thousand Islands where Untung Jawa Island and Tidung Island become the most favorite tourist destinations.

He expected, equal number of tourist who visits South and North Thousand Islands can give positive impacts to economic quality for residents in both areas. Moreover, his side involves local residents to produce souvenirs in form of handicrafts and culinary.

"Hopefully, it could be our annual event and become one of Thousand Islands characteristics, especially in presenting our culture and culinary," he stated.
