City Together with OJK and BNI Initiates 'Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' Movement

Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Financial Services Authority (OJK) and PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) to initiate 'Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' movement or 'Let Us Save with Garbage' movement.
I emphasize that saving culture needs learning and habituation
Both sides signed the cooperation agreement at Great Hall of City Hall, Monday (10/14). Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan together with board of directors of OJK and PT. BNI.
Anies mentioned that 'Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' movement is one form of self-habituation which in the next phase it will shape culture and character. Moreover, this movement is primarily to children at school age.
West Jakarta Keeps Optimizing 'Ayo Menabung Dengan Sampah' Program"I emphasize that saving culture needs learning and habituation. When a person has a habit, it will turns into culture and next it will form person's character, especially to children," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Conference.
By giving saving for children who collect plastic waste is considered very appropriate because it can stimulate their habits to love their environment and to save money.
"This movement encourages children to collect garbage intensively and also stimulates habituation process towards a healthy life," he explained.
For information, 'Gerakan Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' movement is held according to Jakarta Governor Instruction No. 157/2016 about Waste Management Coaching and Development.
Moreover, Education and Culture Ministry has issued circular letter to all governors and regents in Indonesia on May 27, 2019 with reference number 5811/D/HK/2019 about Simpanan Pelajar Program in order to support one student one account program.
Furthermore, pilot project of 'Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' movement which implemented in West Jakarta and North Jakarta and involved more than 160,000 students who collect waste got positive response.
This movement is a program that encourages people from early ages to be independent in saving by sorting and collecting waste from its source and deposit it to Waste Bank.
In the future, this program will be implemented to schools outside of North Jakarta and West Jakarta. This program also planned to be implemented in communities in office buildings and Jakarta government offices.
In this chance, Anies also instructs all Jakarta Government apparatuses, especially school sides, to supports 'Ayo Menabung dengan Sampah' movement by campaigning it broadly and giving rewards to anyone who gets the most garbage collection.
"I want Departments to campaign it broadly, thus more schools can participate in this program. They also need to give rewards to students or teachers who achieve the highest achievement target. Let us make this activity fun," he explained.
Anies is certain that if the program is succeed, then the next generation can get new literation.
"It is not only a mere movement, but also financial literacy from saving they've collected," he closed.
