Channel on Jalan Panca Raya Normalized

The Kemayoran Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit, Central Jakarta is normalizing the water channel on Jalan Panca Raya, Serdang Urban Village.

Normalization is done up to 220 meters

Kemayoran Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit Head Yursid Suryanegara said it has been ongoing since October 15.

"Normalization is done up to 220 meters. To do it, we use a U-ditch measuring 60 centimeters high, 60 centimeters wide and 120 centimeters long," he expressed, Monday (10/21).

To smoothen water flow, the channel is elevated about 80 centimeters and 69 centimerers in the channel's upstream. It is aimed to minimize inundation and flooding when it rains.

"We have six personnel here. Before installing U-ditch, the channel is dredged first," he told.

This work is a follow up of the citizens' proposals submitted through the Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang).

"So far we finished it around three meters. It is targeted to be complete in December," he stated.
