Normalization on Laut Banda PHB Channel Completed

East Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. Head, Mustajab stated, total PHB channel's length is around 3.6 kilometers and it will be normalized up to 2.1 kilometers in 2019.

"This year, normalization is done along 700 meters in segment 0-26 and now it has completed. The remaining will be continued next year because there are still many illegal buildings on its bank," he said, Thursday (12/20).

The channel construction uses reinforced concrete by casting on the location. Its wide is around 3.5 meters with 3 meters depth.

Budget allocated for this normalization who is integrated with Laut Banda PHB channel and KBT's channel in Duren Sawit is reaching Rp 41 billion. Normalization is done because channel is narrowing.

"Its width is only 1.5-2 meters and this channel is silting. There are also many illegal buildings above it. This becomes the main obstacle in the field," he informed.
