Bina Marga Repairs Damaged JPOs Due to Electric Scooter

The Jakarta Bina Marga Department is repairing the floor of three modern pedestrian bridges (JPO) on Jalan Sudirman that was damaged due to being crossed by electric scooters.

Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho stated, those JPOs are Bundaran Senayan JPO, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) JPO, and Polda Metro Jaya JPO.

"There are 12 damaged panels that we repair on Bundaran JPO, then 40 panels on GBK JPO, and 10 panels on Polda JPO," he said, Wednesday (11/13).

He explained, those floor panels are repaired by the vendor because it is still in the maintenance period.

"It is targeted to finish in two days. Tonight, we are still repairing the east side of GBK JPO," he mentioned.

To anticipate similar case, his side has coordinated with Transportation Department (Dishub) to remind the application-based electric scooter ride-share company to prohibit its users from crossing the pedestrian bridge.

" We have prohibited electric scooter from crossing pedestrian bridge ," he asserted.

Not only with Dishub, the department also coordinates with Satpol PP to guard JPOs and to prevent any electric scooter users from using JPO.

"We also hope the communities can raise their awareness to take care of public facilities," he conveyed.
