City to Host 2019 Popnas XV

The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head Ahmad Firdaus announced that Jakarta is appointed as the host of 2019 National Student Sports Week (Popnas) XV, which falls on November 17-25.

Ten sports will be competed in Jakarta, and the rest will be competed in West Java

To smoothen it, the agency has provided as many as 10 venues.

Those venues are Madya Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium for athletic sports, ABC Senayan GBK Field for swimming sports and East Jakarta Youth Center for weightlifting sports.

There are also North Jakarta Judo Building for Judo sports, ABC Senayan GBK Field for sand volleyball sports, Cempaka Putih Sub-district Youth Center for Karate sports, GBK Archery Field for archery sports, Pulogadung Sub-district Youth Center for badminton sports, North Jakarta Youth Center for martial arts sports and Soemantri Brodjonegoro Student Center for sepak takraw sports.

"Ten sports will be competed in Jakarta, and the rest will be competed in West Java," he expressed, Monday (11/18).

He added, the event will compete 13 sports. Therefore, the city will send 201 athletes to win the championship.
