City Leads Gold Medal at Popnas XIII

The Jakarta contingent for now leads the standings list with the most gold medal in National Students Games (Popnas) XIII in Bandung, West Java.

There are some sport branches that had been beyond the target, namely judo and gymnastics

Until Sunday night (9/13), the contingent succeeded to grab 22 gold, 13 silver, and 16 bronze medals. The second place was achieved by West Java as the host with 17 gold, 13 silver, and 12 medals.

Head of Jakarta Sports and Youth Department, Firmansyah welcomed Jakarta achievement. "There are some sport branches that had been beyond the target, namely judo and gymnastics. We hope could be the overall champion from football branch," he expressed, Monday (9/14).

Popnas XIII, City Targeted to Grab 58 Gold Medals

From gymnastic, two contingents, Rifda and Amartiani successfully added 2 gold medals in category of women's 'high jump and artistic gymnastics. Thus, city managed to collect 4 gold medals in gymnastics branch.

From judo, after got 1 more gold medals, the city finally won as overall champion with 4 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals.

As for the swimming, 2 gold medals were also grabbed by Aditya in the men's 200 m swimming backstroke and Sofie Kemala in the women's 200 m. Until Sunday (9/13), 11 gold medals from swimming have been collected.
