West Jakarta Holds Gerebek Sampah at Srengseng Urban Forest

West Jakarta Administration held Gerebek Sampah at Srengseng Urban Forest on Wednesday (11/20) to arrange its environment as well as to prepare it for Adipura assessment.

There are 250 personnel deployed in this Gerebek Sampah held at Srengseng Urban Forest

West Jakarta Assistant for Economic Development, Fredy Setiawan mentioned, it involves Regional Apparatus Work Unit (UKPD) from sub-departments of environment, water resources, bina marga, sub-district, urban village, and public facility maintenance (PPSU) personnel.

"There are 250 personnel deployed in this Gerebek Sampah held at Srengseng Urban Forest," he informed.

City Presents Urban City as Public Third Room

According to him, cleanliness at Srengseng Urban Forest is not only the responsibility of the government, but also residents. Thus his side also asked local residents to care the environment by not littering garbage.

"I encourage the locals to clean several garbage disposal locations," he added.

His side also instructed UKPDs to involve local residents in planting vegetables on vacant land at urban forest area which is managed by Forestry Department thus it will not be used as waste disposal site again.

"Including Environment Sub-department to create a composting because there are lots of dry leaf litter that can be used as fertilizer," he asserted.
