Again, City Receives Award for Informative Qualification Public Agency

The Jakarta Provincial Government once again won an award by the Central Information Commission (KI), on Thursday (11/21). The award for the category "Public Provincial Government Informative Qualification Agency" was given at the 2019 Public Information Disclosure Award in the Presidential Palace Building II, Central Jakarta.

This award handed over by the Vice President Ma'ruf Amin was officially received by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan along with the Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistic Agency Head Atika Nur Rahmania.
It was a form of appreciation for the highest evaluation for the 2019 Provincial Government from Monitoring and Evaluation in the Public Information Openness.
Jakarta Receives the Most Enchanting Provincial AwardIn addition, seven other provinces received similar awards. This showed that the city continues to be committed to supporting transparent and open government in accordance with the mandate of Law number 14/2008 on Openness of Public Information.
"Alhamdulillah we have received the award again and our commitment in the openness of information has also exceeded the limits contained in the KIP's Law itself by providing access to public information in various aspects of transparency of information about all city performance results," expressed Anies, at Jakarta City Hall, as quoted by Jakarta's PPID press release.
He went on to say that openness was very important for every public agency or government especially in the aspect of supervision. Surely the government, the general public and stakeholders should be able to be used to create more activities and collaborations.
"It is also supported by aspects of innovation and collaboration created in providing services to the community," he explained.
As for the information, in the process of obtaining the 2019 Public Information Disclosure Award in the Provincial Public Administration Agency for Informative Qualification, the city has gone through several stages of qualification. First, they fill out/submit questionnaires through the Indonesian Monev KI Center electronic app, which has been submitted on September 26. Then is following up the results of the verification of the questionnaire, Jakarta PPID made it into the top 26th. Afterwards, the PPID conducted a presentation in the front of the Assessment Team from the Indonesian Central Information Commission, Academics and Information Open Practitioners on October 17.
There are results of the highest appreciation appraisal for 34 public agencies divided into 7 categories. From 34 public agencies, 8 provincial governments that fall under the category of "Informative Qualification Provincial Government Public Agency", namely;
1. DKI Jakarta
2. West Java
3. Central Java
4. West Kalimantan
5. West Nusa Tenggara
6. Riau
7. West Sumatera
8. North Sumatera
The purpose and objective of Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Openness is to find out the implementation of Law number 14/2008 on Public Information Openness in Public Agencies, thus the objectives for optimizing the PPID's tasks and functions as the frontline in doing quality public information services to the public is well implemented.
Aside that, the KI Center assessed, despite the number of informative public agencies increased in 2019 compared to the previous year, yet it is unoptimal. The number of public agencies included in the "Not Informative" category reached 53.24 percent of the 355 BPs that were monitored and evaluated this year. The KIP Chairman Gede Narayana explained this matters when reporting the results of the monitoring and evaluation, as well as the awarding of the Public Agency in the "Informative" and "Towards Informative" categories, to the vice president.
Based on the monitoring and evaluation results, around 189 public agencies are not informative. He hoped that all agency leaders as PPID superiors as implementing information services to the public could make information openness to be a culture.
"If they have made the implementation of public information openness as a culture, the mindset will always try to provide the best information service to the public," he closed.
