Bina Marga: Pumps in 16 Underpasses are in Prime Condition

The Bina Marga Department ensures pumps in 16 underpasses in the capital are in prime condition.

These pumps are ready to face the upcoming rainy season

Hari Nugroho, Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Department said that his side has instructed 1,200 personnel to conduct anticipatory steps in handling flooding in underpasses according with standard operating procedures.

"These pumps are ready to face the upcoming rainy season," he expressed, after leading a flood alert ceremony on the yard of the Investigation, Testing and Measurement Office under Jakarta Bina Marga Department, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Wednesday (12/4).

When the potential flood is detected, the personnel will soon activate the generator and operate the pump.

"We will send six personnel in each underpass that is prone to flooding. They will be divided into two shifts. We also get support from the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD)," he explained.

Besides that his side also keeps targeting zero hole during rainy season in order to avoid victims, especially bikers.
