Mini Orchestra Concert will Close 25th Anniversary of Jakarta-Berlin as Sister City

The Jakarta Provincial Government and the German Embassy will hold a Maximilian & Philip Mini Concert Orchestra Event with Canisius Wind Ensemble (CWE), at the Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, which falls on Saturday (12/14).

Further, on Wednesday (12/11) at the City Hall, there will be a workshop on Application of Flood Control Implementation

Jakarta City Sister City Cooperation Subdivision Head Yudi Hermawan explained, since 2018, a series of events have been held to enliven the celebration of relations between the two cities. They are coaching clinic for soccer at Kuningan Soemantri Stadium, South Jakarta, Jakarta Cultural Arts Performance in Berlin, Berlin experts comparative study in the city government for 24 months (2019-2020), Berlin Soccer Tournament, Jakarta-Berlin Disabled Participation Workshop.

There are also Jakarta-Berlin Friendship Mural in the Kendal Dukuh Atas Tunnel by artists and architects from Berlin Jesko Malkolm Johnsso Zahn, as well as artists Darbotz, with several Jakarta artists, Jakarta International Performing Arts 2019 in Monas and Jakarta Berlin Festival 2019 at the Kendal Tunnel.

"Further, on Wednesday (12/11) at the City Hall, there will be a workshop on Application of Flood Control Implementation. It will invite speakers from Technichse Universitat (TU) Braunschweigh, Germany," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (12/10).

To close the New Year event, the mini concert will present two young musicians from Germany Maximillian Schauer, Zukemftsklang Director and Philip Jonas, Winner of the German Youth Music League Competition (Kings of Classic), as well as performance of Canisius Wind Ensemble Jakarta. It will also present the performance of young Ballerina Angelina Natalie Halim who recently won a ballet competition in South Korea.

By doing so, the Jakarta and Berlin will further enhance partnerships between the two cities that can present diversity, enthusiasm, tolerance, peace and modernity. Despite it is only a concert, they will still continue and cover various fields of cooperation.

"All does not stop here. We have plans to cooperate with the European Commission, Berlin City Government and Jakarta Provincial Government in the Smart Change Project, strengthen City Governance, Welfare and Innovation in Jakarta in 2019 to 2022, namely cooperation in the smart city sector," he stated.
