Panggang Island People Trained to Make Processed Foods

Some 30 citizens living on Panggang Island, North Thousand Islands, participated in training in making processed food from seaweed held by the BUMN creative house partners with Thousand Islands Technical Work Unit (UKT) 2, on Wednesday (12/11).

It also aims to increase economic growth and the welfare of citizens

The training held in RT 01/05 Pramuka Island, aimed to improve the competence and creativity of citizens in processing and utilizing sea products.

"It also aims to increase economic growth and the welfare of citizens," told Thousand Islands UKT 2's UMKM and Cooperative Division Head Mardiastuti.

If sea product such as seaweed is processed well, it will have better commercial.

In the meantime, Thousand Islands Pertamina Creative Homes Supervision Ulkiyah added that similar training will be held on other settlement islands with basic ingredients suitable for the sea products in the region.

During training, participants were taught to make processed food into tangkue, dodol (sticky candy) or other food," he explained.
