City Spreads E-Waste Dropboxes at 60 Points

The Jakarta Environment Agency Head Andono Warih revealed his agency has distributed e-waste dropboxes at 60 points

Electronic waste that is stored and disposed can have a devastating effect

Those 60 points include buildings and offices of the Jakarta Provincial Government, private companies, schools, Transjakarta bus stops, train stations, MRT stations and other public spaces.

"Electronic waste that is stored and disposed can have a devastating effect, as it contains heavy metals which can cause environmental pollution and human health disorders," he expressed, Thursday (12/12).

Unfortunately, this matter is still widely ignored by many people. Hereby, they are encouraged to dispose of unused electronic devices in the e-waste dropbox provided.

If the electronic waste is collected, it will be transported and recorded. "We will transport once a month, including monitoring routinely," he said.
