PT LRT Jakarta Prepares 51 Retail Points in Six Stations

Hopefully the community will be able to make Jakarta LRT Station a convenience store or a store that provides daily necessities

The city-owned public transportation operator LRT Jakarta has prepared 51 spots of space for retail with a total area of 986.5 square meters at six existing stations. It purposes to boost company revenue, especially from non-farebox business.

PT LRT Jakarta's Finance and Development Director Rudy Hartono said, besides relying on ticket sales, his side is about to earn income from renting empty space at its station. In addition, his party also offers ad media and telecommunications services.

LRT Becomes an Affordable Transport Choice

"Hopefully the community will be able to make Jakarta LRT Station a convenience store or a store that provides daily necessities according to the company's plans," he expressed, Friday (12/27).

There are currently 35 retail investors that have been selected. By early 2020, it is expected that the tender could be conducted.

"From the telecommunications business, we have partnered with telecommunications operators to provide Wi-Fi," he stated.
