South Korean Government has committed to support and assist Jakarta Provincial Government in construction the Giant Sea Wall as flooding and tidal wave mitigation in Jakarta. Moreover, South Korea already has experience in terms of its construction.
South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia, Taiyoung Cho disclosed that his party is ready to smoothen the construction of Giant Sea Wall in the capital. It was conveyed by Taiyoung after he met Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama at City Hall, Wednesday (9/17). "We'll draft a masterplan first and then continued with its implementation," he expressed.

The sea wall's name in South Korea is Saemangeum and was completed a few years ago. The making plan of giant sea wall by South Korea already discussed several times with Jakarta government. Even, Basuki was also scheduled to directly see the sea wall and street vendors arrangement in South Korea. "We've had discussion between the two governments. Mr. Basuki will also visit Korea soon and be meaningful," he told.
As known, Basuki would visit South Korea on Thursday (9/18). The main agenda is for the signing for the host handover on the 2018 Asian Games, as well as to see giant sea wall and street vendors arrangement in such country.
