SBY revoked President Regulation No. 55/1972 on the Perfection of Hansip Organization and People’s Security and Resistance Organization in order to control the implementation of Universal Defense and Security (Hankamrata) System.
The consideration in revoking the regulation above is to follow Government Regulation No. 6/2010 that states the tasks and functions related to public order, public tranquility, and public protection which currently implemented by Satpol PP.
This President Regulation No. 88/2014 is effective since the date of enactment, as stated by President Regulation Article 2 which enacted by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Amir Syamsudin, on September 3, 2014.
