Armed Thieves Arrested in Tamansari

The ranks of Tamansari Sector Police successfully arrested a group of thieves specialized in stealing motor vehicles that have made the citizens restless. In their action, those thieves were not hesitated to threat and even injured their victims using sharp weapons.

There are 12 suspects in this case. Nine of them have been arrested and the rest of them are still being chased

The armed thieves arrested were JT, ES, GDJ, US, AW, ES, BY, DH, and ADS. From their hands, the police also confiscated 12 various brands of motorcycles, four cleavers, 13 mobile phones, and two vehicle registration licenses (STNK).

Tamansari Sector Police Chief AKBP Tri Suhartanto said the arrest initiated from FA, Tangerang Selatan resident, who reported that his motorcycle was robbed on Jalan Mangga Besar, Tamansari, Friday (5/30). “From that report, we managed to secure two suspects, JT and ES,” told Suhartanto, Friday (6/6).

A Thief in Pasar Minggu Hit by Train

After the police developed the case, other suspects were arrested from five different areas in Jakarta. Their initials are GDJ, US, AW, ES, BY, DH and ADS. “There are 12 suspects in this case. Nine of them have been arrested and the rest of them are still being chased,” he disclosed.

According to Suhartanto, this group of thieves usually began their action between 1 AM until 4 AM. After getting what they wanted, the motorcycles were sold to areas outside Jakarta for Rp 2-5 million per unit. “In a year of operating, they had stolen hundreds of motorcycles. They will be charged with article 365 KUHP (criminal code) about thievery with violence for 15 years maximum in prison,” he stated.
