5 Dumpsites in Palmerah to Be Demolished

Affected by the project of Jalan Inspeksi Kali Grogol, West Jakarta, five dumpsites in Palmerah Sub-District are confirmed to be demolished. Inevitably, it would create new problems. The residents would having trouble to dispose their domestic wastes and local administration would meeting difficulties in finding locations to build new dumpsites. Not to mention is the budget that would be spent.

Head of Palmerah Sub-District Cleanliness Section, Mancur Naibaho, informed that the five dumpsites to be demolished are located in RW 02 and 03 Palmerah Urban Village as well as RW 02, 05, and 08 Kemanggisan Urban Village.
“I haven’t found new locations to replace the five dumpsites to be demolished. This is our problem, finding new dumpsite locations,” he uttered, Friday (9/19).

“Indeed, the budget (for land acquisition) had been allocated. But when the plan to be realized, the residents refused,” he told.
Responding this matter, Deputy Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Adji, stated that his department is ready to buy residents’ lands to be transformed into dumpsites.
“We open ourselves for residents who want to sell their lands in accordance to Tax Object Selling Value (NJOP) price,” he said.
