Commission E Encourages People for Not Littering Channels

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission E Member, Ali Muhammad Johan encourages Jakartans for not littering the channels.

If pump can't work properly, then it will hinder personnel's work in handling flood or inundation

From cross-faction visit to Teluk Gong Pump House, Kali Item Pump House, Sunter Pump House, Grogol Pump House, and Cideng Pump House, his side found out the root of problem that disrupts pump's operation is garbage.

"Garbage can disrupt pump's operation. If pump can't work properly, then it will hinder personnel's work in handling flood or inundation," he conveyed, Monday (1/13).

Through that visit, he mentioned, many things that can be evaluated and become an input for executive regarding flood handling, especially in optimizing pump's operation.

"Importantly, we want a comprehensive solution to overcome flood in Jakarta," he asserted.

He informed, chairmen and members of Jakarta DPRD have directly assisted Jakartans who were affected by flood. Moreover, DPRD also carried out supervisory function related to Jakarta government's action in handling flood victims as well as infrastructures that should be prepared by executive.

"It is important to evaluate it for our own good," he stated.
