Warga Pluit Usulkan Pembangunan Rumah Pompa dan Penataan Saluran

Pluit Residents Propose New Pump House

Residents of Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta suggested local apparatuses to build new pump house and manage the drainage on Jalan Pluit Karang Barat Raya in order to prevent inundation at RW 01, 02, 11, 13, 18 and 21.

Even though we have operated those pumps for 24 hours, it is still not enough

Pluit Urban Village Head, Rosiwan stated, those six RWs were often inundated when heavy rain falls, because of the lowland than sea level.

"Previously, channels at RW 02, 13, and 18 flowed the water into the sea. But since dike was built, residents only relied on Muara Angke Reservoir as the estuary from micro channels," he conveyed, Tuesday (2/4).

12 Mobile Pumps Operated to Drain Inundation in Muara Angke

Due to that condition, he continued, a large amount of water flowed from micro channels to the reservoir. But since micro channels capacity was not large enough, water had the potential to overflow and caused inundation in the settlement. All of this time, North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department has tried to drain it faster by operating 12 portable pumps at the location.

"Even though we have operated those pumps for 24 hours, it is still not enough. Thus residents hope local government can build new pump house on vacant land that was formerly used as Loksem JU 36 on Jalan Pluit Karang Barat," he conveyed.

Technically, he explained, this pump house would be used to hold water flow from micro channels at RW 01, 11, and 21. While Muara Angke Reservoir would be used to hold water flow from RW 02, 13, and 18.

"We propose those plans through Musrenbang. We are optimistic that Muara Angke Reservoir can hold water optimally if we divide the water flow," he said.
