Illegal Parking, 22 Vehicles in Cilandak Ticketed and Towed

As many as 20 joint personnel of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department assisted by police and Satpol PP once again held raid against illegal parking in Cilandak Sub-District area today or Tuesday (9/23), and managed to crack down 22 cars. Due to lack of two truck, they only tow 2 cars as well as ticket and remove tire valves of 22 other motorcycles and cars.

Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Arifin Hamonangan disclosed the raid is started from in front of Fatmawati Hospital. "The raid is focused on Cilandak. Since morning, we have ticketed and towed two cars," he expressed, Tuesday (9/23).

Those two cars are Express Taxi D 2809 TU (ticketed in front of Cilandak Town Square Mall (Citos)) and white Toyota Ford B 1442 SOS (ticketed in Pasar Mede). "After being towed, the cars then brought to the shelter pool in Rawa Buaya," he told.

Tow Sanction will Be Handled by Private Sector, Ahok Says

Besides towing cars, his sub-department also removed and ticketed tens of motorcycles and other cars due to illegal parking alongside Jalan Raya Fatmawati. "Due to lack of tow truck, we just ticket them and remove its tire valve," he reported.

Head of Cilandak Sub-District, Dhany Sukma added the raid is held to trick the number of personnel in each element, either from Satpol PP or South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department. "So, our side is just cracking down street vendors and illegal parking by Transportation Sub-Department," he explained.

He furthered his side managed to net five street vendors who set up stalls alongside Jalan Raya Rumah Sakit Fatmawati.
