DPRD Holds Hearings with 30 FPI Representatives

After orating in front of Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) building, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, 30 Front Pembela Islam (FPI) representatives are welcomed by DPRD members for hearings. The meeting is opened publicly on the 10th floor of DPRD building.

We want all DPRD fractions to attend the meeting, or else we go home

In the hearings, FPI representatives are accepted by DPRD Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, Vice Chairmen M Taufik and Abraham Lulung Lunggana, as well as Hanura Fraction Head Muhammad Ongen Sangaji. Meanwhile, the representatives from FPI are Head of Jakarta FPI Habib Salim Alattas a.k.a. Selon, General Secretary Jafar Siddiq, and several FPI members.

Before the hearings, FPI representatives had asked all fraction heads to attend the meeting.

“We want all DPRD fractions to attend the meeting, or else we go home,” said Selon, Wednesday (9/24).

However, after DPRD Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi told that some fraction heads are in a meeting to discuss the inauguration of DPRD members, FPI representatives can accept it.

“Now, some of fraction heads are discussing the inauguration of parliament executives,” he stated.

Until this news published, the hearings is still ongoing with main discussion is FPI rejection on Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama induction as Jakarta Governor replacing elected Indonesia President Joko Widodo. FPI representatives also ask to meet Basuki.
