Seven Mobile Pumps Operated to Drain Floodwater in Artha Gading

As many as 7 mobile pumps were operated to drain water from connecting channel on Jalan Artha Gading Boulevard, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, into the Sunter River, Tuesday (2/25).

We hope there will be no more heavy rain thus inundation can recede as soon as possible

North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department Head, Adrian Mara Maulana conveyed, from total 7 pumps, 5 pumps are from North Jakarta SDA Sub-department and 2 pumps are from  Public Works and Housing Ministry. Each unit has capacity of 250 liters per second.

"So, 250 liters per second multiplied by seven units. Those will accelerate water draining in Kelapa Gading," he added.

According to him, his side has activated all pumps in stationary pump houses. But, because water level in Sunter River is currently high, channel can't drain the water optimally.

His side has activated those pumps since Sunday (2/23). Thus his side can adjust pump operation based on the needs.

"We hope there will be no more heavy rain thus inundation can recede as soon as possible," he expressed.
