Go Jakfarm in Bintaro Launched

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency, launched Go Jakfarm program in Bukit Mas Residence area, Jalan Cakra Negara Raya, RT 03/15, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.

Its launching was marked by distributing chili seeds to Pesanggrahan Sub-district and planting 28 seeds of rambutan, mango and petai tree.

Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency's Agriculture Division Head Mujiati disclosed the 1.2-hectare land was used as a pilot location for urban farming, especially chili plants.

This Year, Go Jakfarm Program Targets to Plant 200,000 Crops

"We do this action, as Mr. governor is currently very active in inviting citizens to participate in planting their own chilies on the yard of the house," he expressed, Friday (2/28).

Through Go Jakfarm, he would encourage locals to plant three pots of chili plants in their homes to meet their daily needs.

"If chili planting is intensified, we will the results someday," he stressed.

Pesanggrahan Sub-district Head Fajar Churniawan added land utilization for urban farming was the first in Bintaro and Ulujami areas.

"Survey will be continued to look for potential land that is still empty. Thus we can work into urban farming land," he said.
