670 Potholes in Central Jakarta Repaired

The Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency has noted that as many as 670 potholes in various sub-districts have been repaired during January to February 2020.

Of the 679 potholes, 66 potholes are in Gambir Sub-district, 21 are in Johar Baru Sub-district, 155 are in Kemayoran Sub-district, 108 are in Menteng Sub-district, 70 are in Sawah Besar Sub-district, 100 are in Senen Sub-district, 120 are in Tanah Abang Sub-district and 40 are in Cempaka Putih Sub-district.
"The pothole has a diameter of between 30 to 50 cm, for instance on Jalan Kwitang, Jalan Senen Raya and Jalan Raden Saleh Raya," expressed Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency's Road and Bridge Division Head, Yudha Catur Suhartanto, Monday (3/2).
Potholes in Senen Sub-district AsphaltedDuring rainy season, road repairs temporarily use cold mix asphalt, as it dries faster in one day. While in the summer, road repairs use hot mix asphalt, which has more durable materials.
"But if the asphalt is put in the water, it will peel or make holes," he stated.
His party will continue to inventory while improving potholes, especially on roads that are often passed by heavy tonnage vehicles and are flooded with rain.
"We also always coordinate with officers in each sub-district to conduct routine checks. If we see potholes, we will fix it soon," he said.
