3,816 People Visited Thousand Islands Last Weekend

Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-department recorded total 3,816 people visited resort islands and inhabited islands of Thousand Islands from Friday (2/28) to Sunday (3/1).

Visitors were departed from Marina Port, Kaliadem Port, and Tangerang

Thousand Islands Parekraf Sub-department Head, Puji Astuti conveyed, it consists of 3,739 local tourists and 77 foreign tourists.

"Visitors were departed from Marina Port, Kaliadem Port, and Tangerang using traditional boats and boats owned by Transportation Department (Dishub)," she said, Monday (3/2).

According to her, the presence of 118 people who were observed in Sebaru Kecil Island regarding COVID-19 didn't affect the visitors from enjoying their weekend in Thousand Islands. They were more concerned with high waves and weather condition.

Although bad weather and high waves occurred on these days, Jakarta Dishub UPPD 1 Unit's Tidung Island Port Head, Khairul said, his side followed the SOP from Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) in order to depart the passenger boats.

"Alhamdulillah, weather is rather good on last weekend thus boats can depart safely," he stated.
