Sub-district Puskesmas in North Jakarta Have Ambulances for Infectious Diseases

This is a means and infrastructure of public health services for free

To overcome the outbreak of the coronavirus, six sub-district community health centers (Puskesmas) in North Jakarta, alerted ambulances to infectious diseases. It is part of the commitment of government health services to the community.

"This is a means and infrastructure of public health services for free. To get it, citizens may call 112 or 119," said North Jakarta Vice Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim, Wednesday (3/4).

As part of the SOP, the paramedics will conduct initial screening by interviewing complaints, history of illness, travel history and direct communication links with foreigners.

"People with suspected coronavirus will be picked up from the house towards hospital," he explained.

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head Yudi Dimyati explained there is no difference between the equipment in this infection-specific ambulance with the regular ambulance. But the paramedics and drivers in the ambulance wear virus protective clothing.

"We also serve people who suffer from Sars, Mars or HIV," he expressed.

"Patients can be brought to Sulianti Saroso RSPI to Gatot Subroto RSPAD or Persahabatan Hospital," he stated.
