South Jakarta has 31 Reading Spots for Baca Jakarta Program

South Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-department (Sudinpusip) provides 31 reading spots in 25 Children-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA)s, 5 Public Reading Parks, and 1 local library.

This program is carried out for 30 days and divided in two periods

South Jakarta Sudinpusip Head, Evita mentioned, 31 reading spots were provided to facilitate Baca Jakarta program. Until today, her side confirmed total 77 volunteers have been placed in all reading spots.

"This program is carried out for 30 days and divided in two periods. First is on 11 March - April 9, and the second on 1 - 30 September," she said, on Friday (3/13).

Tens Children Join to Do 30-Day Reading Challenge at Kebon Sirih RTPRA

Her side informed, as many as 247 children at elementary school age have registered to join Baca Jakarta program. Participants also divided into two categories based on their age and class.

First category is for 1st - 3rd grade students with reading duration 15 minutes. While the second is for 4th - 6th grade students with reading duration 30 minutes.

"Participants from each categories will be asked to tell and write down the summary of book they read," she explained.
