Panggang Island Applies One-Door Access

Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands applies one-door access for local residents who enter and exit the island. In other words, residents who shop for goods, activities for loading and unloading goods, and fishermen can only go through the main pier of Pramuka Island to access the island.

From our personnel's monitoring, residents activities outside their homes and in port began to decrease

Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Pepen Kuswandi considered, it is important to tighten the access since it is easier to monitor residents activities in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission in the region.

"It is quite effective to prevent and reduce the risk of coronavirus spread since we can monitor and control residents activities," he stated, Saturday (4/4).

Thousand Islands Regent Calls for Physical Distancing to Citizens

In order to limit people's activities outside, his side encourages local traders to order goods from agent by phone and coordinate with water taxi to deliver the goods.

Previously, he continued, Regency has coordinated with PD. Pasar Jaya to provide temporary grocery stores in each urban villages to ensure availability of people's needs, especially traders in each islands thus they don't need to go back and forth to the main island to shop.

"From our personnel's monitoring, residents activities outside their homes and in port began to decrease after we tighten the port access for these two days," he informed.
