Hundred Samples Examined at COVID-19 Emergency Laboratory of Pasar Minggu RSUD

The COVID-19 emergency laboratory which located at Pasar Minggu Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) has examined 600 samples since it began operating on Thursday (4/9).

In a shift, our team can handle 80-90 samples

Jakarta Health Agency's Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda) Unit Head, Endra Muryanto stated, on average, his side can examine around 200 samples per day with help from 12 volunteer health workers who are divided into two shifts.

"In a shift, our team can handle 80-90 samples. The result will be submitted to Health Ministry's Health Research and Development Agency (Litbangkes) and Jakarta Health Agency," he explained, Monday (4/13).

Even though the samples were stored in a container, facilities in COVID-19 emergency laboratory at Pasar Minggu RSUD have met the standards of Jakarta Health Laboratory (Labkesda).

"There are biosafety cabinet level 2A, freezer, and other lab facilities which have met the standards of Labkesda," he added.

According to him, COVID-19 handling should be done quickly, especially in identifying patient samples to determine whether they are positive or negative COVID-19.

"We plan to add more facilities and capacities, but we need to wait for instruction from Health Agency Head," he closed.
