Anies Appreciates PMI for Sterilizing Areas Within the City

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan appreciated Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) for sterilizing areas in Jakarta using condensation technology.

In this chance, his side and PMI Chairman, Yusuf Kalla sent off the team who will sterilize the city at PMI Headquarters which is also used as COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Warehouse on Jalan Gatot Subroto Kav. 94, South Jakarta, Wednesday (4/15) morning.

"I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for PMI who are on standby, fast, and work massively in carrying out sterilization in Jakarta regions. They use condensation techniques in this sterilization, where the condensed vapor contains of chemicals that is useful for sterilizing things. We really appreciate it and Insya Allah it can give benefits to Jakarta and Greater Jakarta, because they also carry it out in Greater Jakarta areas," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID press release.

Anies Coordinates with Local Governments of Greater Jakarta Regarding PSBB Implementation

He mentioned, COVID-19 prevention movement involved all components of society to participate and cooperate thus the pandemic could subside soon. His side affirmed that his side will give sanction for companies which are still operating by presenting employees in the office during PSBB period.

"KRL and other public transports remain full, because companies continue to operate. As long as the companies continue to operate, public transport will be full with passengers. We will make sure to discipline them by imposing sanctions, such as revoke their business license, and others. Once again, it is important to protect all citizens. It has nothing to do with government's interest or private interest. It is for the sake of all citizens. We want to protect everyone by reducing activities outside and staying at home. I hope all parties to obey it, thus we don't have to give sanction," he explained.

In the other hand, PMI Chairman, Muhammad Jusuf Kalla expected, sterilization carried out by PMI could reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in capital city of Jakarta. According to him, sterilization is one efforts which carried out in many countries affected by COVID-19.

"Our teams were sent off to help Jakarta Governor to sterilize the city. Because with sterilization, at least we can reduce the risk. Even so, we must continue to carry out mitigation. It is carried out by almost all countries to overcome this pandemic. Besides, it is also important for us to maintain distance with others, wash our hands, wear face mask, and stay at home," he closed.
