Cakung, Center of Sacrificial Animal Peddlers

The rampant of sacrificial animal peddlers who use public facilities such as along Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, causing city problem that should be resolved by Jakarta Provincial Government. Hence, those peddlers would be relocated next year to the Cakung Animal Slaughterhouse (RPH), East Jakarta.

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed his party is looking for ways how to evict the seasonal peddlers at public facilities, such as sidewalks, parks, and roadside. One of the ways is by relocating sacrificial animal sale at Cakung Animal Slaughterhouse. Moreover, the site has an area of up to 17 hectares and would be equipped with showroom facility like as belonging to Haji Doni on Jalan Akses Kelapa Dua, Cimanggis, Depok, West Java.

"In Depok, the sacrificial animal sale is using salesman. We will use it," he stated, at City Hall, Wednesday (10/1).

The plan will be realized in the next year. Thus people who want to buy a sacrificial animal, no longer buy on forbidden places, but in the Cakung Animal Slaughterhouse. "And we also plan to use Depok's sale ways in Cakung," he told.

Former Central Jakarta Mayor admitted that he did not prohibit people to sell sacrificial animal as long as they do not sell at public facilities.

"I instruct Central Jakarta Mayor to immediately follow up this matter. Unfortunately, we only have time six days," he lamented.

In Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta Administration had provided a market for goat sale on Jalan Tanah Abang III. Ahead of Eid ul Adha, the Stenlis Market was already prepared in Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-District, Central Jakarta, for sacrificial animal peddlers. Yet they prefer to set up stall in forbidden places.

Those refused to be controlled because they have been selling for years. No wonder, the raid on Monday (9/30) yesterday ended chaotic. Whereas, according to Governor Instruction No. 67/2014 on Control of Sacrificial Animal in 1435 Hijri, every peddler are not allowed to use public facilities as transaction place.
