Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad stated to temporarily close grave pilgrimage activity in all public cemeteries (TPU) in Thousand Islands ahead of Eid.

As the Leader of Thousand Islands Task Force for Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, his side will enforce several regulations that in line with Jakarta Government's decision to extend Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Jakarta until June 4, 2020.
This regulations, he continued, are also in line with Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) fatwa related to the implementation of Eid prayers and grave pilgrimage which became a habit of Thousand Islands residents in commemorating Eid.
Approaching Eid, Food Commodity in Jakarta is Relatively Safe and Sufficient"In accordance with the recommendations from MUI, we will temporarily close grave pilgrimage activity in all TPUs in Thousand Islands," he conveyed after video conference meeting with apparatuses at Mitra Praja Office, Wednesday (5/20).
According to him, this policy is in line with PSBB regulations in order to avoid crowd.
"We hope they can understand for not carrying out grave pilgrimage until the condition is safe and COVID-19 outbreak is over," he closed.
