Jakarta Education Department has pointed the favorite schools to mentor 15 referral schools of Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), Senior High School (SMA), and 18 Public Vocational Schools (SMK) in five municipalities. It is aimed to generalize the quality and education standard of the schools in the capital.

According to Lasro Marbun, Head of Jakarta Education Department, those favorite schools were chosen as mentoring school because of the quality education schools in Jakarta is uneven.

"That's why, we will generalize between 15-30 schools of SD, SMP, SMA, and public SMK with favorite schools," he said, Tuesday (10/7).

He explained those chosen favorite schools are Public SMA 8 Bukit Duri, Public SMA 28 Pasar Minggu, Public SMA 78 Kemanggis an, Public SMA 68 Salemba, Public SMA 81 Makasar, Public SMA 13 Koja, and Public SMK 57 Pasar Minggu.

"Teacher, headmaster, and its vice headmaster of favorite schools will mentor favorites referral schools consisting of 15 schools of SD, SMP, SMA and 18 Public SMK," he uttered.

He explained that those teachers, headmasters, and vice headmasters would visit and provide training and guidance to the referral schools. "Otherwise, teachers, headmasters, and vice headmasters of referral schools will study in the favorite schools," he told.

He expressed such mentoring process has been running thus far. "Every favorite school must mentor three to five referral schools. In our target, the whole school would already has the same quality with favorite school in 2019," he revealed.

He also committed a major activity by intensifying training and monitoring for one to two years in referral schools. "Afterwards, the schools would be independent and recruit new teachers to all schools in Jakarta become a favorite school," he exclaimed.
