The Thousand Islands Library and Archives Sub-agency continues to provide book rental services for students and parents via online, which aims to support distance-learning programs during COVID-19 pandemic.

To borrow the book, residents or students can order via WhatsApp to library officers on each residential island whose number has been spread. Afterwards, the officer will send the books according to the lending order.

PSBB, Closing Libraries in Jakarta is Extended

"They simply send the title of the book and its author, the officers will send according to order," expressed Library and Archives Division Head, Cecep Suryadi, Tuesday (6/2).

For reading and storybooks information, the officers will update the book title information along with its synopsis via Instagram at @perpustakaankep.seribu and Facebook at Thousand Islands Library.

"We will do this until the condition is completely normal again," he explained.

Aside that, the library also still provides storytelling services via social media every day conducted by librarians and RPTRA officers in the form of videos, as well as re-sharing videos of virtual tours conducted by Ancol, Dufan and Ragunan Zoo.

"This is solely to give entertainment and knowledge other than by reading books without having to come to the reading park or to the library," he stated.
