The Thousand Islands Environment Sub-agency's Coastal janitors, picked up garbage that was washed away and piled up around Panggang Island, North Thousand Islands, on Sunday (6/7).
Panggang Island Urban Village Head Pepen Kuswandi said as many as 12 janitors divided into groups were sent to clean up trash around the pier and coastal area of Panggang Island.
Jakarta's Trash Output Increased During Eid"We transport about 4.2 cubic meters. After being sorted, they are accommodated at a temporary disposal site while waiting for the arrival of the KM Bersih boat," he expressed.
He uttered that garbage on the coast was brought by the flow of seawater from Friday (6/5) to Saturday (6/6) yesterday afternoon.
"Most garbage is dominated by streofoam, plastic bottles, wooden sticks and bamboo. It is caused by the current east wind season," he stated.
