There is a slight change in pattern this year
According to him, on D-1 of Eid, total garbage reached 6,995 tons with 1,299 rits of dump trucks and increased to 2,917 tons with 624 rits of dump trucks on D+1.
"Based on empirical experience in previous years, tonnage of waste decreases during the pre and post-Eid," he expressed, Tuesday (5/26).
East Jakarta LH Collects 780.83 Tons of Waste on Eid HolidayThen based on the last year's data, waste tonnage reached 7,145 tons with 1,321 rits of dump trucks on D-1 and then drastically decreased to 1,959 tons with 376 rits on Eid.
"There is a slight change in pattern this year, as there was a homecoming ban that triggers an increase in waste volume," he explained.
Predictably, garbage would return to normal on Wednesday (5/27) or D+3, as the accumulation of garbage piles that had been left in the trash can of each resident's house began to be sent to a temporary waste disposal site (TPS).
"We've anticipated the possibility of increasing tonnage by preparing operational patterns and strategies," he told.
He went on to say that the Bantar Gebang continued to operate for 24 hours on Eid. To support it, around 300 personnel were alerted at the TPS.
"For per day, dwelling time, weighing and decreasing garbage, there are only 2 hours 15 minutes. This is one indicator of the Bantar Gebang management remains normal," he asserted.
Aside that, the dump truck drivers were also instructed to empty TPSs in all areas of Jakarta prior to Eid.
"By doing so, each TPS is able to accommodate waste in large quantities on Eid and D+1," he stated.
