Around 11 janitors serving under Thousand Islands Environment Sub-agency, managed to collect 1.6 tons of waste scattered along the coast of Sebira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands.
"As of June 1, Sebira Island gets garbage from the middle of the sea piled up on the main pier and the anchor pond which reached 500 - 600 cubic meters every day," expressed Sebira Island Coastal Cleaning Agency Coordinator, Erwin Andika, Thursday (6/4).
Jakarta's Trash Output Increased During EidHe explained the waste transported was in the form of tree trunks, bamboo, plastic packaging and styrofoam.
"Thus far janitors assisted by PPSU members are still collecting and sorting waste before it is destroyed," he stated.
