City Gears Up to Extend Bike Lane for Jakartans

The Jakarta Provincial Government’s plan to provide bike lanes for cyclists and residents to exercise every Sunday, is welcomed by various parties.

In the future, we are going to extend locations for cycling

According to Syarif, Member of Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission D, his party appreciated and supported it fully. Evidently, despite it was just a trial, the residents seemed very enthusiastic.

"In the future, we are going to extend locations for cycling," he expressed, after being met on Jalan Bina Marga, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Sunday (6/28).

Especially for Cipayung Sub-district area, he furthered, the bike lane and place of exercise was supposedly extended to the Kaprina soccer field on Jalan Kelapa Dua Wetan, which aims to accommodate more people.

"Nevertheless they must comply with the health protocol for the sake of our comfortable, safe and healthy during exercise," he stated.

In the meantime, Ismail (53), a citizen of RW 02 Cilangkap Urban Village, Cipayung also gave his positive response on the city's policy about bike lane.

"This is good, as people can exercise together comfortably, safely and healthy," he exclaimed.

Hopefully it could be a routine agenda every Sunday and bike lane could be extended again.
