Tourism Practitioner: Thousand Islands Tourism will Bounce Back in New Normal Era

Thousand Islands has a natural landscape that is sought after by tourists nowadays

Thousand Islands Regent Husein Murad revealed tourism sector in his region would revive in line with the implementation of the transitional large-scale social restriction (PSBB) to the new normal era.

"When tourism sites are reopened, the number of visitors in Thousand Islands keeps increasing. Surely it shows its own charm," he expressed, during a virtual discussion along with tourism practitioner, Nicolaus Lumanauw, through a zoom meeting at Mitra Praja's office, Tuesday (7/7) night.

To restore public confidence, his party is about to encourage all circles to implement health protocols starting from wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and providing hand washing facilities in every home, homestay and public space or tourist site.

Tourism Practitioner, Nicolaus Lumanauw considered that Thousand Islands had three tourist attractions, namely nature reserves and national parks, as well as locations near downtown Jakarta.

He assessed tourism potential in Thousand Islands was able to attract the attention of tourists amid the pandemic and the transitional PSBB.

"Thousand Islands has a natural landscape that is sought after by tourists nowadays. So I'm sure the tourism sector will bounce back," he stated.
