South Jakarta Has Monitored 375 Locations Regarding Eco-friendly Bags Usage

The South Jakarta Environmental (LH) Sub-agency has noted that as many as 350 modern markets and 25 traditional markets in its region have passed through monitoring of eco-friendly shopping bags usage.

South Jakarta LH Sub-agency Head M. Amin said that the monitoring itself involved 79 joint officers of ASN and PJLP.

"We previously also held the same action in 511 modern markets and 25 traditional markets in South Jakarta," he expressed, Thursday (7/9).

Based on the monitoring results for a week, he assessed, eco-friendly shopping bags usage in the markets was good so far. Even there was also a good collaboration between market caretakers and local governments.

"Shoppers and sellers also realize that this is very important," he told.

Community Participation and Legal Compliance Division Head Kamil added strict sanctions would be given to sellers and market caretakers who violated regulations, ranging from written warnings, administrative fines to revoking business licenses.

"Our hope is they can increase awareness regarding eco-friendly bags usage," he hoped.
