Through Future City: The Virtual Smart City Hackathon, local and global innovators are invited to share solutions that can meet the challenges of the post-pandemic era
Jakarta Provincial Government together with Berlin, Germany runs the project 'Smart Change - Development of Urban Governance, Welfare and Innovation in Jakarta' funded by the European Union, which aims to develop innovative solutions for sustainable urban design.
Jakarta Smart City (JSC) Chairman Yudhistira Nugraha explained the Smart Change program had a digital contest to encourage Jakartans to develop creative solutions in curbing the post-pandemic.

It was designed to motivate and help participants to expand their network by:
1. Develop a pandemic recovery solution with references from various experts who will later be integrated with the Jakarta Smart City program and services, and
2. Get opportunities for consultation and guidance with business people, experts and venture capitalists
The challenges during the Hackathon will include seven indicators from the Smart Cities concept in Jakarta, namely Smart Governance, Smart People, Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart Economy, Smart Environment and n Smart Branding.
To support participants develop solutions, there will be an explanation from experts related to the seven indicators thus the solutions offered answer the challenges of post-epidemic Jakarta recovery.
This is the first step towards realizing the goals of "Smart Change" cooperation while helping to answer the challenges of a pandemic recovery. By so, it is hoped that a culture of collaboration and innovation with Jakarta Smart City would be further developed.
