Latest COVID-19 Information in Jakarta as of August 12, 2020

Jakarta Government intensifies holding PCR test massively to find new cases quickly. This way, the task force can take an immediate act regarding isolation or treatment measures in order to reduce the potential for COVID-19 transmission.

From 578 positive results, 201 specimens are the accumulated data from August 10-11 which recently reported

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out for 4,936 specimens.

As many as 4,117 specimens have been tested to diagnose new cases with total of 578 positive results and 3,539 negative results.

Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Cases as of August 11

"From 578 positive results, 201 specimens are the accumulated data from August 10-11 which recently reported. In total, 44,936 PCR tests have been carried out per 1 million population. While the number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 46,360 ," she explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Wednesday (8/12).

For information, WHO had set the standard number of PCR test of 1,000 people per 1 million population per week. Based on WHO, Jakarta must conduct a minimum PCR test on 10,645 people (not specimens) per week or 1,521 people per day.

"In Jakarta, PCR tests have been carried out 4 times more than WHO standard," she added.

PCR test in Jakarta was carried out through collaboration with 54 Local Government Laboratories, Central Government, BUMN, and private sector. Jakarta Government provides test funding support to BUMN and private laboratories that participate in sample testing program.

Meanwhile, there are 578 additional positive cases in Jakarta. In total, it reached 8,925 positive cases (including people who are still being treated/isolated). While for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 27,242 cases.

From that amount, 17,349 people recovered with recovery rate of 63.7% and 968 people died with mortality rate of 3.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 4.5%

For positivity rate or positive cases percentage in the past week in Jakarta reached 8.3%, while in Indonesia it reached 15.5%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Always remember to pay attention and implement these principles in daily activities:

•Stay at home and don't go outside if not urgent

•Implement 3M: wear mask properly, maintain safe distance of 1.5-2 meters, and wash your hands with soap and running water regularly

•All activities that are permitted to operate should limit capacity by maximum 50% and comply with strict health protocols   

•Remind the others to always implement health protocols

In order to ensure COVID-19 health protocols implementation by the community, Jakarta Government through Satpol PP is actively monitoring and enforcing regulations throughout Jakarta, such as in public places/facilities, socio-cultural activities, and individual violation where people don't wear mask.

Up to August 12, 2020, Jakarta Satpol PP has issued 605 written warnings and imposed fines on 143 violators in public places/facilities. While in socio-cultural activities, Satpol PP has issued 12 written warning, 29 fines, 26 sealing sanctions. For individual person who don't wear mask, Satpol PP given social sanction to 73,741 violators and administrative fines to 9,319 violators.

Amount of collected fines from individual violation cases reached Rp 1,377,810,000; Rp 511,850,000 from violations at public places/facilities; and Rp 203,500,000 from socio-cultural activities. Total collected fines until August 12, 2020 reached Rp 2,093,160,000.
