Health Protocols Monitoring in Thousand Islands must Be Increased

As a tourism destination, we must increase the PSBB monitoring on weekends and national holidays

Thousand Islands Satpol PP was instructed to further strengthen monitoring of health protocols at tourist sites and on settlement islands, in line with the large number of tourist visits on weekends.

This statement came out from Thousand Islands Acting Regent Junaedi when he led the ceremony for the transitional PSBB monitoring together with Satpol PP at Arsa Park, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands, Sunday (8/30) morning.

"As a tourism destination, we must increase the PSBB monitoring on weekends and national holidays," he expressed.

According to him, another way to reduce and prevent the spread of COVID-19 besides socialization was by implementing fines for violators of health protocols, either residents or tourists.

"No more tolerance," he explained.

By doing so, it could give deterrent effect and make them more disciplined in implementing 3M rules (wearing masks, washing hands, keeping their distance).

"This is done to make our islands return to the green zone," he hoped.
