Anies Hopes to Grow Awareness of Having a Mask in Tanjung Priok Port Area

Our awareness to use it must be raised again which indicates that we respect the other person

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan attended the Declaration of the commitment to wear masks entitled "Ayo Pakai Masker #Priokbermasker Pelabuhan Sehat, Indonesia Maju" (a declaration to wear masks) at the Tanjung Priok Police Headquarters, North Jakarta, on Thursday (9/3).

The declaration, which took place by implementing strict health protocols was also attended by the declarators, including Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Insp. Gen Nana Sujana; Tanjung Priok Kesyahbandaran Office Head, Capt. Dr. Wisnu Handoko; and Lamtamal III Commander, Brig. Gen. Hermanto.

Visiting COVID-19 Monument, Anies Reminds People to Be Discipline in Complying with Health Protocols

The governor represented the Jakarta Provincial Government to support and appreciate the #PriokBermasker declaration as part of joint work between all stakeholders as a declarator and the community who would later become the target of socialization.

"Allow me to appreciate all declarators. The COVID-19 pandemic needs to be faced with collective work, where the Government continues to implement 3T (testing, tracing, treatment) and the community implements 3M (wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap)," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (9/3).

It is expected to encourage the importance of wearing a mask and awareness for the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, especially in the Tanjung Priok Port area. He mentioned, the use of good masks would be one of the signs that we respect others while protecting others from spreading the disease.

"We must intensify the use of masks. Our awareness to use it must be raised again which indicates that we respect the other person. Think of this mask as a way to protect others," he explained.

He also hoped that it was not just a ceremony but as a pioneer of other health protocol discipline movements thus the port area can be an example for other ports in Indonesia in the future.

"We must be disciplined, as the virus is tireless. It is uncomfortable but it is more comfortable than being treated for COVID-19. Please really understand and implement this and make an example of every face in Priok that is a face with a mask. Make this event more than a ceremony, but set an example both in Jakarta and National," he closed.
